anyway, why magical web? cos i completely agree with what dayo wong (hong kong stand up comedian if u do not know) said. it was something about how people misuse the web and stuff like that. not to say misuse, he was just pointing out how people who do not know each other ie stranger could curse another person to die in pain and stuff like that on a forum. and compare it to how many people actually do that in real life. like face to face, see someone on the street, scold him. would you? most likely no? :P
so the reason i brought this up was that i saw this video circulating on facebook. i never watched the video so i don't really know what's in there. what i saw though was some note that some spca want to arrest this fella in the video for abusing the dog. i mean, yes, animal abuse, so wrong. but again, is that the only animal abuse case on the whole world or do you have no other business to do? trying to arrest this fella who appear on the video? is there really no other dogs or cats or whatsoever getting abused at some part of your country? really? no dogs just died starving or getting hit by a car or whatsoever? or you don't give a damn as long as it's not brought to light? what about the dogs which died, the dogs which were put to sleep for good? do you think spca is all that nice actually? u taking animal's life away makes you any better than those who abuse? well i'm not trying to say spca is a bad thing here.. just don't think they have the right to judge so much. although i've no idea how much good stuff they've done out there.
sometimes i just think it's dumb how people try to be fair to animals and at the same time try to elevate themselves above all other animals.
oh and the relation between both issues? i just thought that this internet thingy makes people suddenly all become so "brave". talking behind a computer mah, who cannot? don't even have to show face. plus if you do something "good" on the internet, you get all the publicity and all that crap. if you do bad, no one knows cos no one can track you down anyway(well they could but it all depends). your notoriety will most likely remain virtual. hahahah. now ain't that the greatest thing on earth?
added: what i was trying to say was like how people couldn't and most likely wouldn't be bothered by whatever that happened by the roadside (possibly due to the fact that they don't wanna stand out or attract attention) but when it comes to the internet, everyone just pretend like they're all so saint-ish and stand up for some so called justice and shit like that. just because you're hiding behind that rectangular (no longer square cos everyone owns a 25" monitor or such) box. just because you're like a blank paper on the internet that people couldn't judge what you do on a daily basis. just because it gives you the advantage of judging people without risk getting judged. cussing people to death. stuff like that. i feel so bad for the dog. =s
2 person(s) wasted his/her time:
and that is why there is facebook, to reduce the anonymousness on the net. :)
invades privacy as well
